According to the indictment, the two men originating from Bad Hersfeld were managing director of a company which operated mobile phone shops in Göttingen, Warburg and Bad Driburg.
When their fraud, the defendants should have applied two tricks. So they should have registered more than 6,000 prepaid mobile phone contracts for customers as a contractual partner of Deutsche Telekom AG, which do not exist or knew nothing of it. For each of these bogus contracts it to a Commission have crossed a Telekom, a total of nearly 300,000 euros.
Also they should have gained more than 17,000 serial numbers of mobile phones according to the investigations of the Prosecutor’s Office. With these so called IMEI number (international mobile equipment identity) can uniquely identify every mobile device. The defendants had used this data to feign repair orders and alleged work as a warranty service invoice. Total affected mobile phone producers to more than 185,000 euros will be damaged.
