Many of you, like myself, have seen the movie Iron Man. During the film, the main character, Tony Stark, sports a completely transparent mobile, devoid of any visible part outside the bounding edges.
The first problem is that many of the internal components cannot be produced without coloration, so transparent. Especially current lithium batteries cannot be made transparent. Of the product concerned was manufactured a prototype. The material used for the outer shell is Graphene, a material highly durable, lightweight and above all a good conductor. This is the first device to use a material like that. For now, the prototype has a small touch panel in the Center and various sensors and the processor are placed at the edges.
This experiment is not the first time. Years ago, LG released the GD900, the first device which rode inside the semi-transparent parts, in this case, the alpha-numeric keypad.
The device, manufactured by Taiwan’s House, unless unforeseen circumstances, should be released for the end of 2013. We will keep you updated on more news about this interesting experiment.
