The location of a cat when they took saws, drills and cell phones into a prison of Alagoas came to prominence in international newspapers this weekend.
The cat was seized in the early hours of the day on December 31, when they entered the Prison Judge Luiz de Oliveira Souza. The Civil Police of Arapiraca learned of the escape plan about ten days before, after the arrest of five men for bike theft. They had made calls to some prisoners.
The website of The Guardian points out that in addition to cell phones, saws and drills, the cat took also into the Presidio a headset, a memory card, batteries and a mobile phone charger. The Daily Mail joked stating that the animal was “detained”.
According to a police officer who asked not to be identified, the animal had been trained as they entered the building and went straight to a cell. After a checkup, prison staff found that a grid had already been cut on site, but no one managed to escape.
The publications point out that all the detainees in the prison of 263 Arapiraca “are considered suspects in the case, which is being investigated by local police.” Despite this, the newspapers pointed out that the identification of the person responsible for action will be difficult.
