Soon it should be possible to pay for bus tickets using your mobile device, leaving the single ticket and money aside.

The idea, somewhat daring, is being probed since December 2012 by SPTrans, organ responsible for transport in the city.

To pay, the user will touch the phone and move it next to the validator in ratchet, as is already done with the card. The validation will happen thanks to a special chip, coupled to the mobile phone, which has not yet been made.

The technical service and marketing supervision of SPTrans, José Aecio de Souza, claims that, for the project to make it work, there is a need for the viability of an ecosystem. In other words, the body needs the interest also from City Hall, from the makers of cell phones, the mobile operators, trade and banking.

Current data transport in São Paulo

According to data from the SPTrans, are 22 million Unique active Ticket cards since 2004. Meanwhile, the number of cell lines, qualified in the area of code 11, comes to about 33.9 million according to Anatel.
